I am selling my 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLK200 (R171), a truly well-maintained example of this model.
Mileage: Purchased on January 9, 2024, at 75,000 miles. Current mileage is 78,000 miles.
Ownership History: The car was owned by an elderly gentleman from Worcester, who purchased it as an Approved Used Car from Mercedes in 2009 for his wife. It remained in their care until I purchased it. So I am the 3rd owner. Under the previous owner’s care, the car was always stored in a garage alongside other cherished vehicles, like a Lexus LS V8 and a Toyota LC76. Its condition reflects this care, with excellent exterior and interior quality.
Inspection: I hired a professional inspector before purchasing the car (£180 cost). They confirmed the car is mechanically sound, with no leaks, a tight chassis, and near-perfect interior condition. Minor cosmetic scratches are shown in the photos.
Maintenance and Improvements: Roof Mechanism: The retractable roof operates flawlessly, with no leaks. I have driven it through heavy rain, strong winds, and jet washes, all without any issues. This is a key feature for any convertible.Tires: The front tires were replaced in August 2024 due to wear, so they are as good as new. Upgrades:Installed a CarPlay system for navigation, music, and an integrated dashcam. It is powered by the cigarette lighter and can be easily removed if not needed. Rearview camera and wiring (imported) included but not yet installed, provided with the car.
Service History: The car was last serviced in January 2024, just before my purchase. However, since it was not done at a dealership, it is not logged in the on-board computer. Over the past year, I have only added 2,500 miles to the odometer, as this car has primarily been used for weekend drives—our family relies on another SUV for daily use. Given the low mileage since the last service, the next owner can decide when they would like to schedule the next service.
Condition:This SLK200 is in near-perfect condition, with no error codes or hidden issues. The retractable roof’s integrity and operation are flawless, which is rare for convertibles of this age.
Why I Am Selling:I love this car for its elegance and timeless Mercedes design. Despite its modest power compared to competitors like the BMW Z4, it is a joy to drive. However, I am selling it as I am relocating overseas and can no longer keep it.
